Dorothy Ingle: A Life Lived Outdoors
/Dorothy Ingle was born in Petersburg, and grew up playing in the meadows at Point Agassiz where her grandparents had a homestead, and fishing with her family on the Stikine Flats. She remembers when the cotton gillnets had to be dipped in Bluestone to preserve the web, and the time her cousin ate a piece of the pretty blue mineral and nearly died.
Dorothy has always loved the outdoors life, fishing and hunting. She even ran a trapline before school. In this conversation with her friend Shar Junge, she talks about her adventures in fishing including her part in rescuing some other boats. Her quiet manner of storytelling understates how immensely capable Dorothy is on the water, in the woods, and as a member of our community.
