Library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB): Giving teens a voice

The Library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB) was established in 2007 to give teens in our community a chance to represent teens and make changes at the library. They have had a big impact on the collections, services and spaces. In this Listening Project conversation Heather and Grace Bieber discuss how they became involved with the TAB. They talk about the various activities organized by the TAB, like the Homegrown Film Festival, and cooking classes for teens. The Biebers think the TAB is a good venue for teens to let let the library know what they need in terms of materials and space at the present facility. The TAB made a movie this winter about the need for a new library  and testified about that in front of the Legislature via teleconference.

The TAB is an energetic and creative group of young people, eager to make some good changes at the Library, and support library activities. We are constantly amazed by their enthusiasm and ingenuity
